Bright Finds: Canon EOS Rebel Camera

Today's Bright Find is the Canon EOS Rebel camera. If I could give Etsy Shop owners only 1 tip for success, it would be to "take great photos". If you have a wonderful product, but the photos do not show them well, you will not sell. It's just that simple. It is also just as important as a blogger to capture good quality shots.
canon
Invest in a good quality camera if you are serious about growing your business. I love my Canon because it takes wonderful interior shots even with low lighting.

Off-Beat Market: Little Wren Pottery

Happy Friday, everyone. I'm back with another Off-beat Market shop. Hope you are enjoying these articles. I'd like to make them a regular thing.
Today's find is Little Wren Pottery owned by Victoria Baker. She is a second generation potter and her love of this handmade artform, really shows.
(This color is so beautiful)
Personally, I LOVE pottery. All the variation in color and texture can be such a treat for the senses. Its also fascinating to think that these types of objects have been used since the beginning of mankind! Pottery seems to connect all people everywhere. How's thought for deep thinking on a Friday?! My hidden philosopher is showing again:)

Thanks Victoria for letting me share your beautiful work!
Check out her blog also for more lovely things

Conversion Charts

via on Pinterest

Ideally, I wish I could have a conversion chart for everything.
Like how to convert the real world into a way my brain can understand it... Not sure where to find that.
But, at least I could have a fabulous chart for the kitchen!

Love: Handmade Wedding Dresses

Attention handmade brides -- I think you should really get to know Katie Jean Walker (KT Jean Designs) whose custom-made wedding dresses rival (maybe even surpass) those at any fancy bridal boutique. Simply adoring the cascading tulle and lace details (I mean that T-strap back! Swoon.)

Etsy Fave: Pigeon Toe Ceramics

Things I'm a sucker for: Mason jars and white pottery. Pigeon Toe Ceramics combines them into one beautiful package, and thus have earned my undying support. Check out their lovely selection of hand-crafted bowls, planters and votives here.

Etsy Fave: White Owl

After several seasons of heavy costume jewelry, my neck is really, really tired of being weighed down with 2-pounds of fake pearls and beads. While, a little birdie (cough, mom) told me I will be receiving a sweet (and mericifully lightweight) gold Peretti bean necklace for my birthday this week, I'm also loving these lace necklaces from White Owl. The pieces are as dramatic as costume pieces but, happily, lacking the resulting neck and back pain.

Irene Suchoki & Weekend Recap

Sooo, what to say about this weekend? It was, um, a little toasty. And as a result, I spent a lot of time indoors with a fan pointed at my face, AC on full blast, dreaming up about a hundred unnecessary projects to take on around the apartment.

With all of the extra time on my hands, one thing I was able to accomplish was tracking down an affordable large-scale photo that will remind me of my Paris vacation without screaming, "I went on vacation in Paris and now want to cover my entire apartment in pictures of the Eiffel Tower."

I ended up purchasing the photo above of a tree-lined park in the Jardin des Plantes -- nicely priced at 20x24 for $125. The photographer, Irene Suchoki, has a great Etsy shop filled with dozens of similar dreamy photos of Paris, Italy, and other pretty places she comes upon in her travels.
Other than obsessively searching for affordable art on Etsy, I did make it outside for a dip in the pool, a late night adventure in Columbia Heights to new bar Meridian Pint (beertaps on the table = mind blown) and a trip to the Dupont farmer's market where I stocked up on peaches, plums, okra, greens and beautiful, purplish Cherokee tomatoes. I then girded myself for the walk home with Dolcezza Mojito sorbetto, and all seemed right in the world -- although in hindsight I'd attribute that to mild heatstroke.

So enough about my weekend, what fun ways did you come up with to beat the heat?

Etsy Fave: Faded Summer Memories from Jena Ardell

In my mind, summer memories look just like these lovely faded, polaroid-style art prints from Jena Ardell -- filled with sun-bleached settings, happy people, and curated collections of seaside ephemera, you can practically smell the Hawaiian Tropic through your computer screen. Purchase here.

My Favorite Farmhouse Vintage

Vintage shopping on Etsy just doesn't get much better than Old Crow Farm, a shop consistently bursting at the seams with amazing upcycled finds ("we rescue cool junk" is their tagline).

I've blogged about my love for them before, but some of their latest offerings just take it to the next level. The photography of the items alone is cool enough to buy.

In My Heart of Hearts

So, in case you can't tell I'm finally catching up on my Etsy faves (and I have so much to share!). Love this 'In My Heart of Hearts' tank from Neena Creates.

Handmade Notebooks from Ruth Bleakley

Every design lover I've ever met has had a penchant for a great notebook. A penchant for jotting down ideas poolside, at midnight, or in the grocery line just seems to be one of our many wonderful quirks. Right now, I'm loving book artist and illustrator Ruth Bleakley's hand-bound, and hand-stamped creations. Shop here.
