Inspiration 5.27

Sooo, remember yesterday when I declared it "open windows" season? I was so wrong. It's officially AC on full blast, lights off season.

But y'know what makes the unbearable heat ok? Brights. I don't know what it is, but sweltering days like this make me desperate to break out of my uniform of creams, navy, and light pink with glorious neon accents -- belts or sandals, a fun, beachy tote or an AC worthy cardigan.

My seasonal love for hot pinks and electric greens spills over into interiors too. I'm adoring the Mexican riviera vibe of these rooms.

Inspiration 4.8

Eeek! I missed a day for the first time. I try to schedule my posts out over the weekend to keep some measure of sanity in my life, but forgot to actually publish this one!

Anywho, this image comes from Crystal at Plush Palate, who described the room as poetic -- I really can't think of a better way to say it. From the book, Italian Country Living.

Inspiration 3.26

I always try to avoid posting pics from recent magazine issues, but I don't think I'm going to be able to help myself this month. The most recent House Beautiful and Elle Decor were amazing. Case in point, this office in the beach house of Harriett Maxwell MacDonald and Andrew Corrie. Perfection.

Anti-Depressive Decor from Amanda Nisbet

A dreary day like today practically calls for the fun, exuberant and feminine work of designer Amanda Nisbet. Honestly, no matter what the forecast is outside, Nisbet's work must make you feel like its permanently May. While it might be too much for me in large doses, her use of Palm Beach brights, metallics and patterns just makes me happy. Hope it cheers you all up today, too!
