Inspiration 12.16

So excited about DC's first real snowstorm, and this amazing Belgian house would be perfect for watching the snowflakes fall...

Scooter Chic

Aren't these shots from The Sartorialist the ultimate in cuteness? Well, actually, I think his relationship with the adorable Garance is probably the ultimate in cuteness, but this comes pretty darn close.

I've wanted to rock an outfit like this since I first saw these photos a few weeks ago, but I think I missed my window! It was 85 degrees when I left Washington and now its in the 40s here in London. Sigh.

Style I Heart: Jane Aldridge from Sea of Shoes

The beautiful thing about the Internet is that as soon as you come across something unbelievably lovely, you realize that everyone else already knows about it. Such is the case with my recent discovery of 18 year-old fashion prodigy Jane Aldridge and her perfect style blog Sea of Shoes.

I guess I've missed out on her blog because I shy away from fashion blogs, in favor of interior design/craft blogs. You know Carrie Bradshaw's famous line, "I like my money where I can see it...hanging in my closet." Well, the closet was never good enough for me. I like my money where I can really see it. Every day, out in the open in my apartment.

So jumping down the rabbit hole of fashion/style blogs just seemed like a terrible way to divert my funds from home goods to clothes.

But Jane's fantastic romantic and bohemian (with a bit of edge) style has me sold. So with great trepidation, I'm going to add Sea of Shoes to my Best Dressed blogroll and kiss my few remaining savings goodbye.

A small taste of her style:

Fluent...

Sometimes I think I should just start a tumblr, because I could easily post pretty pictures all day, every day. I try to restrain myself, and put things in some context, but right now, it's rainy and cold here in DC. I'm avoiding the gym and all I want to do is stare at the peonies I bought at the farmer's market on Sunday and zone out.

So I apologize in advance for my laziness, but I wanted to share these lovely things with you, context be damned.

My peonies...
If you live near Terrain in Penn., you can get weekly deliveries of these lovelies for under $30...

Blog Crush: The Singular

I hate digital cameras, and seriously, they hate me right back. I have never taken a good picture in one, lost one, broke two and hate the fact that if Facebook crashed I would have nothing to remember my early twenties by except for commemorative shot glasses. Polaroids, on the other hand, are one my absolute favorite things (I'm asking for one for Christmas). I love the softness of the light, white border, and retro vibe.

Everybody looks cooler in a polaroid, and that is a fact. So when I discovered this great Paris-based fashion photography blog completely dedicated to Polaroids, I was smitten. At The Singular, blogger Antonio Barros snaps pictures of models, scenes from the backstage of fashion shows, celebs and lovely Parisian street style on his humble polaroid camera. THIS is glamorous. This is what I want to be when I grow up.
