The Christmas Spider and Tea Cup Tree!

Welcome to my Christmas Blog to those of you who have not visited here before!

I know it has been some time since I posted on this Blog. Since the end of the last holiday season, I went back to posting on my regular blog, Debbie-Dabble.

I promised to return here , to a Debbie-Dabble Christmas , to show you all things Christmas.

For those that know me, I had 14 Christmas trees in my home last Holiday Season.

I had 5 Valentine's Day's trees and I currently have 2 Easter trees !!

I wanted to keep a tree up year round in my Craft/Sewing Room because I so love the look of the room with a glow of a lit tree!

Last week, I showed you my Summer Tea Cup and Rose Tree on Debbie-Dabble.

But since it is a Christmas tree but decorated for Summer, I thought I would share it with you here.

First I want to tell you the Story of the Christmas Spider.

I received this as a gift from my dear friend, Anne Marie.

Please click to enlarge to read it better.

It is a German and Ukraine custom to have a spider on your Christmas tree.

Here is my lovely spider on my Craft Room Tea Cup and Rose tree.....

It clips on......

Isn't she pretty??

For those of you that read my post about this tree on Debbie- Dabble, I have added some things....

I bought these butterflies and birdie at Micheal's for 60 % off.....

Here is my Tea Cup and Rose Summer Tree.....

At the top, I used white feathers, a sprig of Summer flowers, a bow made from ribbon bought on Clearance last season at Micheal's and a Victorian Doll Head.

There are white lights and silk rose lights on the tree....

I stuck some pink and white silk roses into the tree......

Here is the Birdie and some of the butterflies....

I also used tea cups without saucers as ornaments along with some regular tea pot and tea cup ornaments...

A mouse in a Tea Cup...

A Seed packet ornament.....

A Butterfly clip on ornament bought at Target for 75% off last years for $1.25!

A Tea Cup....

The church trimmed in pink reminds me of a Summer Wedding.....

I had also showed everyone this sweet little girl's dress I bought at Salvation Army for $3.00. I thought it would make a perfect tree skirt......

I did not want to cut and ruin the dress so I turned the bodice inward and wrapped it around the tree stand.....

When I strip this tree and redecorate it for Christmas, I will lift the tree out of the stand on put the dress over the tree stand rather than wrapped around it but since I already had the tree decorated, I couldn't do this now.

I think it made a good tree skirt!!

So that is my updated Summer Craft Room Tea Cup and Rose tree!!

Only goes to show you that you can have a Christmas tree for all seasons and holidays!!

I FINALLY went Shopping!!

I have finally left the house !! It is the first day since Christmas Eve!! All because of that intestinal flu!

I went to Micheal's first and picked up this cutie at 60% off...

But what I really wanted was this after reading about all of you in Blogland using fake snow to create your own flocked trees and wreaths.....

Got 3 cans for $1.39 each!

Then I hit Target and all Christmas was 75% off. Not to much left but I managed to snag some goodies...
Scented pine cones .... $1.00!

Bright Pink Tinsel wreath ( will match in the guest Room)....75 cents!

Tubes of Shatter Proof Balls !! 8 in a tube for........25 cents each!!!!
I bought 10 tubes!! I plan on adding them to my garland outside and the wreaths that I hang on the windows next year!!!
Another idea from all of you out there in Blogland who sung the praises of Shatter Proof Balls!

I can even use those red balls on a Valentine's Day tree of 2 or in a glass bowl..........

Trims for crafts...... Check out the white fur one!

Butterfly ornaments clips!! I am thinking for an Easter or Garden tree??????

And a silver tinsel tree for 2 bucks!!
I know, another tree....
it is a sickness...
what can I tell ya????

Okay, I am HAPPY now!!

STOP!!! Don't take that Tree Down Yet!!

STOP!!

Don't take your tree down yet!!

Unless you have a real one and then you have no choice!

But now is the time to cruise the After Christmas Clearance sales to look for ornaments for different holidays and seasons!!

And why should you take down the those trees when you can turn them into Valentine's Day trees?????

Last year I left 5 of my trees up and converted them into Valentine's Day trees.

A 5 foot potted one in my Living Room..

A Shabby Pink one in my Craft Room.......

My Dining Room Tree.....

And the Powder Room stayed decorated with Snow Buddies and I added red hearts to that tree...

The Den tree stayed up too and was decorated with burgundy and blue solid and toile hearts.....

I even left the garland up on the stairs, added a red velvet rose garland to it and red lights.......

You can leave up your garland outside too. Just add raffia bows, use only white lights, add snowflake ornaments to the garland and you are decorated for Winter!!

Leave a sled and a snowman or too on the front porch and your house is a Winter Wonderland!!

Why not brighten the dark of winter by keeping the lights twinkling both outside our homes and inside on a tree or two???

I am taking down the wreaths on my windows and putting up lighted snowflakes.... Winter Decorations!!

Last Glimpses of Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas, belated that is!
What did I get for Christmas this year.........a severe case of gastroenteritis!

It hit me on Christmas day after I had already made dinner but right before I was to put it on the table for everyone!
Joe handled it and everyone enjoyed it as I retreated upstairs to my bed and bathroom.
I cannot remember being as sick as I was since I was a child so I am going to share my wisdom about Gastroenteritis, alias the stomach flu, with you....what to do and what NOT to do...

I don't want to gross anyone out but I want you to be prepared just in case....

First of all, have plenty of this, Gatorade, on hand.

You need to replace your fluids and electrolytes so you do not get dehydrated or end up with an electrolyte imbalance which can lead to serious complications.
I took medication to stop the vomiting because I needed to retain my Blood Pressure pills since my BP was sky high. I had a prescription medication but over the counter Dramamine will do.
Tylenol for the fever is a good thing. mine was 102 degrees, plenty of blankets for the chills.
The mistake I made after 2 straight days of relentless diarrhea was trying to stop it with an over the counter medication. I had to call my Dr. because since it lasted so long, I was actually afraid that something else was wrong and I had aggravated my already existing Back problem.
DON'T TAKE ANYTHING TO STOP THE DIARRHEA!!!
The medical mind set now is that the vomiting and diarrhea is excreting the virus from your system so if you stop it, you are only prolonging the virus in your system.
Clear liquid diet the first 24 - 48 hours.... Tea, Clear soda, jello,etc....
Then follow a B.R.A.T. diet........ Bananas to replace your potassium, rice for bulk in your diet, applesauce and toast. Along with PLENTY of liquids to prevent dehydration.

It can last 1-5 days. Mine lasted until Tuesday from Saturday evening......

Definitely a Christmas I will remember......

I missed all the after Christmas sales but Joe in his travels to one of our grocery stores found more of the Bearington Bears that I collect on sale for 75% off.

My newest additions are the ones with the tags on......

A few more pics from around the house that I didn't show before.
This is a table in my upstairs hallway....

Just a little Santa added.....

Found some of the bright pink shatterproof ornaments on sale on Christmas Eve morning so I added a few to my fake mantle in the guest room.....

And I did find this at Ross's for only $2.99!!!

Already thinking of the next holiday.....

Even though we are in Pa., the Blizzard that hit the eastern coast did not come far enough west so we only had about an inch or two of snow here...

Well, pretty much the Holiday season of 2010 is just about over as will be my posts here at A Debbie-Dabble Christmas. I will be going back to posting on my regular blog, Debbie-Dabble.
But I will post anything that has to do with Christmas here at A Debbie-Dabble Christmas through out the year.

I would like to invite my followers here to please sign up to follow me over at Debbie-Dabble.
What a great holiday season it has been here in Blogland!!
So many ideas, so many new friends, so many new crafts!!
Who would have thought of creating their own flocked trees by spraying them with Fake snow. Who would have thought of using silver spray paint to change a green wreath into a silver one. And all of the other fantastic ideas that all of you shared....... mind boggling!!!
I am still visiting the homes on all the house tour parties and I suspect I will be for quite awhile as there were so many.

I want to thank you all for enriching my life this Holiday season. Blogging is better than any decorating or recipe magazines or books !!!!

I hope to see you over at Debbie-Dabble!!

Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!!!
