My Antiques Excursion.

Wow, this week has been so crazy for me! I'm just now getting a chance to post my weekend photos. Of course, you guys knew I had to show these pics! I had lots of fun but I didn't get to stay very long. Still had time to find lots of great stuff. One of my favorite booths was Carolyn Westbrook Home. How they managed to set up such a gorgeous setting in the middle of a field, I'll never know.

Love these party gowns!

I call this photo "The Cool Girls". They are wearing the "It" hat, that is the must-have at Round Top.
Never can resist rusty things.

To top off all the fun, I had a chance to meet up with fellow bloggers Cheryl Schulke of Stash Studios and Chris Brown of Urban Prairie. We had casually mentioned meeting, but didn't have anything specific set up. When I did find them, for some reason I decided to include myself in on their lunch. The worst part is, I had already had lunch! I only sat there and watched them eat. I swear I don't know what gets into me sometimes. So, Cheryl and Chris; I had lots of fun meeting you and I hope you don't think I am a total crazy.

Not Ready To Go Home.

I've been having so much fun with my virtual world travels, this week. I wish it didn't have to end. Before the week is over, I thought we could travel to Argentina; via El Beso.
This house inspires me, not just to visit; but to move in! Its bohemian goodness, is too much for me to resist.
Correction: When I first posted this article, I said the bedroom had a peg-board wall. A reader commented that the wall is not peg-board, but a small print wallpaper. Oops!
Too bad, I was loving the peg-board idea. Maybe that is how I will reinterpret it.

Well, I hope everyone had fun traveling with me. Time to unpack our black suitcases ;)
Have a Great Weekend!

Traveling with Style.

Via: Raggedroses.
Whenever I see antique suitcases and trunks, I feel like I missed out on something special. So many of these pieces were made with so much detail. Now, when I travel; I stand at a conveyor belt and watch black suitcase after black suitcase pass by me. I watch them closely as I look for my own black suitcase.

Hotel Basico/Quintana Roo, Mexico

Today, lets travel a little closer to home. The name alone of this Mexican hotel, draws me in...Hotel Basico. Sounds like pure minimalist fun :) Situated in Quintana Roo, this is a very stylish spot to spend a vacation on the beach. Although, if you stay in a place this cool, do you really want to leave?

I guess, if I really want to stay at Hotel Basico, I better get a babysitter. Apparently, they don't allow kids; but I can take my dog? Go figure!

Shoreditch House in East London

This amazing private member's club in East London was designed by Tom Dixon. I wonder what kind of fees they have, because I would gladly pay to see this place.I found this via an amazing site called Yatzer.

Bella Italia Weine/Germany

I couldn't resist one more image from Yatzer. An Italian winery in Germany uses an extreme optical illusion to expand the space. Although, the mirror effect is pretty extreme, I think it could be used on a smaller scale; to expand any small space.

Let's Take a Trip.

I just returned from a short weekend trip. The problem is that it really wet my appetite for travel. I would like to spend the rest of the week writing about wonderful places I would like to visit. Many of you are returning from a long weekend, just like I am; and may not be ready for Monday. Check out this amazing post from Pia Jane Bijkerk, and ease into the week. While sitting in a Parisian cafe, she recorded the sounds that accompanied this wonderful shot. I can feel a cool breeze and imagine the wonderful aromas that must have been part of this scene. I love this idea so much! There are several other "soundscape" posts that are just as dreamy, so don't miss them.
