Christmas Teascape!

First , let me explain the music you are hearing. I am of polish dsecent with my paternal grandparent's coming over from Poland. I grew up with my parents, aunts and uncles singing Polish Christmas Carols during the Holiday season and hearing them in church. The song playing is one that I remember my Dad singing with all of his heart and I was lucky enough to find it on Playlist so I wanted to share a bit of my childhood with you!

And now I would like you to cast a vote for me...please click HERE to read..

For Tea Tuesday in Blogland, I finally got a chance to do a Christmas Teascape using a set of dishes that I bought at our Church Flea Market in the Spring. There was only a place setting for 2 but I loved the look of them as they reminded me of the Era of Charles Dicken's and I thought they would be cute to use for the Holidays.

Since I bought them, I have seen them in many others posts and in various colors also.

Here is my Christmas Teascape!

It is just a simple one as I am not that great at tablescapes nor can I keep my Dining Room table set as we eat on it every day.

I bought the dishes at our church flea market in the Spring as I mentioned . In the summer, at a yard sale, I found the matching Tea Pot for $2.00.

Did I mention that all the dishes were 25 cents each!

This is a stunning card made by my sweet friend Ginger! Please check out her wonderful blog @ GLITTER AND ROSES

I used a few pieces of my Ruby Red depression glass and my red transferware....

These are cookies made by my dear friend, Ann Marie , who is the best baker I know!

I think they are just too pretty to eat!

The red silverware was bought on clearance at a local Super Market after the summer holidays....
Vintage napkins....

I love the different patterns on each plate....

Very Charles Dicken's like I think....

Love the pattern on the Tea Pot....

And here are the tea cup and saucer...

The "cakes" are ornaments from J.C. Penney's this year....

These cup cake candles ( the candle is inside ) are from Kohl's this year...

Love this card from a good friend, Maryann..

Had to take these pics quickly as the candy from the dish was disappearing fast......

Well, that is my Christmas Teascape!

The Reason for the Season !!

Lynn over at Happier Than a Pig in Mud is having a Reason for the Season Party!

Here are my Three Nativity sets that I would like to share with you today!

This first one I bought at a Home interiors Party right after we were married in 1978 and I have displayed it for 32 Christmas seasons!

It's home is on top of my Dining Room Hutch. I love the colors of the figurines!

When our sons were young, we did not put out the Baby Jesus figures until after mass on Christmas Eve. Then when we would come home, the boys would each put one out in the Nativity sets because Jesus was now born to this Earth.

This Nativity Set is on top of my Living Room Entertainment Center. I won it at our Church. It was raffled off at a fund raiser and we bought one ticket for $1.00!!!
I added the bowl, jar and animal blanket accessories. I saw them one year at Walmart and I had to have them because I thought they were so unique!

This 3 piece set is inside my Living Room Hutch. I love the elegance of the cream and gold.

If you notice there is hay under each of the Baby Jesus figurines. It is hay or straw is from last year's nativity set at our church. It is blessed and it has always been tradition since I was a little girl to take some of the Manger hay as my Mom called it and place a bit in your purse and lay it under your Baby Jesus at home. Folklore is that it was good luck and would keep you safe. Has anyone else ever heard of this?????

And even though this is not a nativity set, I love the "Praying Santa". Puts the whole Holiday in perspective I think....

I bought the one on the right at a Gift Shop and the little frame to the left, I bought at yard sale for 25 cents!
Here is a close up. It is battery operated and the halo around Baby Jesus glows when lit.....

And here is a smaller slightly different version. Santa has a sack of toys on his back on this one. I love how Santa is clutching his cap ....

And my little collection of Praying Santa's started with this one. My MIL made this one in ceramics for me many years ago......
