Bathroom Remodeling Project of University City by dRemodeling

An old bathroom need to remodel in order to keep it's modernity while still keeping the basic architecture, here are the project of dRemodeling that renovate and remodel the old bathroom of a historic 1894 home in the University City neighborhood of Philadelphia. You can see the picture of before and after remodeling process. here are the pictures.
dRemodeling undertook much more than a mere cosmetic makeover - They undertook a complete structural renovation to bring the bathroom up to the most modern codes and standards and to ensure the bathroom would last for decades to come. Simply put, the homeowners wanted a guest bathroom that was built as solidly and as elegantly as a master bathroom.
The homeowners wanted the bathroom to exude a Zen-like atmosphere, so dRemodeling undertook several measures to ensure that they would get exactly (and beyond) what they wanted. The room was stripped down to the bare lath and then completely rebuilt and refinished into a modern bathroom. The process involved replacing the dingy old bathtub with a modern frameless glass-enclosed shower whose floors and walls were covered with pebble-like tiles to add a naturalistic flair to the modernist bathroom. via

Happy "Dream Home" Year!!

OK, HGTV...you finally got me. You actually went and built my dream home!!! Wow! Oh what a way to start the New Year, dreaming about a modern adobe house set in New Mexico...ahhhh! I have to admit that although HGTV's "Dream Homes" are always nice, I never really gave them any thought. It never occurred to me to think about entering or anything... but This One? I'm going to do it! I know it sounds ridiculous to think I might win, but this really is the home Mark and I have imagined over and over for years! Having grown up as West Texas kids, who often traveled to New Mexico, we can't get the landscape out of our systems and y'all know how I feel about Santa Fe!

Waking up to a wall of windows overlooking the grounds, is definitely part of the dream:)

Well, I've already set my DVR for this! On the first day of a new year, it always feels like all dreams are possible, right?
Happy New Year, Everyone!

Not Just Me.

So last week I wrote about my current infatuation with marble, and discovered that I am not the only one who loves it. While scrolling through Phorm Design's blog I found the amazing bathroom above. I was salivating on my monitor! The best part is that the rest of the house, designed by Pierre Yovanovitch is just as fabulous.

Alright, its almost 1:30 a.m. so I think I will go to bed. I'm sure a lot of you are losing sleep tonight watching the election results. With all the emotion, I'm having trouble winding down. Its definitely the verge of a new day here in the U.S. You all may realize, that the party I supported didn't win so obviously I am somewhat disappointed. On the other hand, I am SO proud of all the people who took their responsibilities seriously and voted! Even a young girl who had to call her mom just to ask what her address was. Hey, she got out there and did it. I really hope and pray, that more than a new President, we have a new found sense of patriotism and responsibility. I know I already used that word, but I think it is very important. I don't want to sound preachy, so I'm trying to keep my thoughts restrained.
My point is that although, I didn't vote for our new President; I feel that only good things can come from so many people realizing that they have to be involved in our country's affairs.
Again, sorry for the preachiness:)

What A Way To Start The Day!

I sat down to do a little morning blogging, and found this great sneak peek from Design Sponge. I would love to start every day in this fresh and fun bathroom. The vanity is so creative and practical too.
